Find out how you can get involved!

TS Awareness Month is just around the corner, and we need your help to bang the drum and make some noise to make it our biggest and best yet!

As part of our campaign, we are on a mission to turn the UK green on 7th June to mark Tourette's Awareness Day and would encourage you to reach out to your local buildings and bridges NOW to get them involved. Take a look at our Flickr album to see some of the amazing buildings that took part last year Awareness Month 2024 | Flickr

All you need to do is choose a local landmark—whether it’s a bridge, cathedral, monument, football stadium, university, or any other iconic location—and reach out to them via email to request their support. To make the process as simple as possible, we’ve put together a ready-made email template that you can copy and paste. It couldn’t be easier!

Email Template:

Hi,

I am reaching out on behalf of Tourettes Action, the national charity dedicated to supporting individuals with Tourette syndrome, to kindly request your participation in our ‘Turn It Green’ campaign. This annual initiative takes place during Tourette’s Awareness Month (15th May – 15th June) and aims to illuminate landmarks and buildings in green to raise awareness of this often-misunderstood condition.

We would be incredibly grateful if you would consider lighting up your [enter building/bridge name] in green, ideally on Tourette’s Awareness Day – 7th June. However, if this date is not feasible, any time during the awareness month would be truly appreciated.

Over the past three years, this campaign has received support from prestigious landmarks and buildings, including:

  • The Eden Project, Cornwall
  • St Michael’s Mount, Penzance
  • Ely Cathedral, Cambridgeshire
  • Liverpool Town Hall
  • Nottingham Trent Building
  • Steve Prescott Bridge, St Helens

Tourette syndrome remains widely misunderstood, and we are working tirelessly to raise awareness, challenge misconceptions, and promote understanding. Your support in lighting up [enter building/bridge name] would make a significant impact in shining a light—quite literally—on this important cause.

Please let us know if this is something you would be able to support. We would love to share your participation across our platforms to celebrate your contribution to Tourette’s awareness.

Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to your response.

Best regards,

YOUR NAME

Don't forget to let us know if you are succesful!

Just send an email to campaigns@tourettes-action.org.uk with the details. We can then add them to our database and reach out again next year.

Thank you for your help! Together we can make a real difference
