About our Guest Speakers

Dr Tara Murphy

Dr Tara Murphy is a Consultant Paediatric Neuropsychologist and Clinical Psychologist. She has worked at Great Ormond Street Hospital since 2003. Dr Murphy currently co-leads the Tic Disorder Service and Paediatric Neuropsychology Service.

Dr Murphy has expertise in providing and supervising neuropsychological assessment of children with a range of acquired brain injury and neurodevelopmental conditions, in particular, tic disorders.

 

Dr Claire Eccles

Dr Claire Eccles is a Consultant Child and Adolescent Neuropsychiatrist. She is co-lead of the Tic Disorder Service and is part of the Children’s Epilepsy Surgery Service (CESS) at Great Ormond Street Hospital. Dr Eccles has a research interest in neurodevelopmental movement disorders, including tics and Tourette syndrome, stereotyped movements, functional neurological disorder, and epilepsy. Dr Eccles has previously been involved in the Royal College of Psychiatrists Neuroscience Project, has held an NIHR Clinical Lectureship and an RCPsych Pathfinder Fellowship, and has a PhD in Genetics from University College London.

 

The session will run for one hour and will include time at the end for audience questions.
