Tourettes Action does the London Landmarks Half Marathon!
Posted on 29 January 2020 by Pippa McClounan
Meet our fantastic team of runners who will be fundraising for TA.
or our first forray into LLHM as a charity partner, we have a stellar line up of selfless individuals who are willing to sacrifice Sunday morning lie-ins for long, cold training runs in the lead up to a 13.1 mile jaunt around our incredible capital city.
It is our great pleasure to introduce you to these super-star fundraisers:
Sean Morgans
Sean has an 11 year old son, Samuel, with a diagnosis of TS. Sean turns 50 this month and his goal is to have a year to remember - running the LLHM for TA will certainly add a tick to his list of achievements. Sean says 'Being a parent of a child with TS isn't easy. We have periods when we struggle as a family almost on a daily basis. Your charity has helped us understand that we are not alone. I cannot overstate how powerful that feels'.

Jo Caffell
Jo was inspired to run the LLHM by her 14 year old daughter, Abbi, who was diagnosed with TS in 2019. The road to diagnosis and treatment was difficult for the family, and Jo found the Tourettes Action website to be a huge help. Jo says 'Thank God I found the TA website! It has been a life-saver for us so I want to say thank you and raise more awareness'.

Adrian Reynolds
A long time supporter of TA, Adrian is coming back to running after some time away. Not only will he be running 13.1 miles at LLHM, he will also be taking on Brighton Marathon just 3 weeks later! This is an even greater achievement as Adrian has TS. Adrian works closely with Tourettes Action, through writing articles, taking part in research and media projects and being a lay member of the scientific research board.

David Fradley
David's son was diagnosed with TS last year, and as a keen runner, he was delighted to secure a place for LLHM 2020. Having supported our 'Move for Tourettes' campaign last year, the family are hoping to raise more donations and awareness for TA as a way of saying thank you for the support they have received. David says 'I want to do this not only for your amazing charity, but for my wife, who always puts our son first and tirelessly tries to make life easier for him, and is changing our friends and families opinions of TS all the time'.

Genna Barnett
Genna joined the Tourettes Action Board of Trustees in September 2019, and as soon as we heard she was a regular runner, she was on our radar to join our LLHM team for 2020. Genna, who has a diagnosis of TS, works at Nesta in the research, analysis and policy division. With this experience, she is passionate about supporting Tourettes Action to measure the impact of their research work.

This will be Marta's first ever half marathon and she is delighted to be running it for TA! As a researcher at the University of Surrey, Marta has worked with children and adults with various tic conditions over the past 4 years. Marta's latest project has received invaluable support from the team at Tourettes Action so she is honoured to support us in return by running the half marathon and raising money.
