Recruitment for the ORBIT trial is now closed
Posted on 18 June 2019
ORBIT (short for ‘Online Remote Behavioural Treatment for Tics’) is a four-year project that is studying new treatments for tics and Tourette syndrome. Previous research has shown that behavioural treatments (talking therapies that focus on changing a person’s behaviours and thoughts) are as effective as medication for tics and Tourette syndrome.
There are new behavioural treatments that are delivered online that could help children and young people with tics and their families. The ORBIT trial is investigating the effectiveness and acceptability of two online treatments.
There has been a huge response of participants and we'd like to thank everyone who got involved. Many families have reported back to us with positive comments about their experience. We look forward to sharing the results with you
