A big “Hello!” from Tourettes Action Beds, Bucks and Herts Support Group.

Our group is run (with great support from Tourettes Action) by me, Katie, and Michelle. We have family members with Tourette Syndrome and are lucky to have been involved in our local group for a long time, but we recently relaunched under Tourettes Action. We also both have strong links to SEND locally and also in supporting those with SEN and their carers.

We support all of those with Tourette Syndrome, from children, young people, teenagers, and adults. We also welcome their family and friends too!

Our Facebook support offers signposting to various support services available locally, the opportunity to help one another and we have just had our first face to face social meet up under Tourettes Action. We had over 35 people come together at Stockwood Discovery Centre Luton for a cuppa, cake and a chat! We had a special visitor too…Laura Davidson from Tourettes Action, who supports the local groups nationally, came along and helped to strengthen links to Tourettes Action that provides so much support to those living with Tourette Syndrome and their families. The atmosphere was one of acceptance and unity. It was great to see so many people brought together by Tourettes and also to see so many smiles.

Friendships that have been made through our group have led to the sharing of information, encouragement and support and we hope to extend this too many more within Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire. This meet up was the first of many!
