Spotlight on Support Groups - Chelsea, London
Read more about our fabulous Chelsea Support Group from group leaders Kirsty and Chris O'Keefe.
We are Kirsty & Chris O’Keefe and we recently opened the Chelsea Tourettes Action Support Group.
We run a busy gardening company - O’Keefe Gardens Ltd and have three children. We have always been involved in the community for volunteering our time to help others, whether it be the scout group, being involved in the setting up of the school & Church for Christmas fairs, the year group WhatsAapp leader or being part of the pastoral care committee for visiting the elderly. We like to help others!
Our family life changed when our middle daughter was diagnosed with Tourette’s in 2019 and without the support of TA and the regular online support groups, especially the coffee mornings and the dads group, we would have been alone.
Last year, our daughter became a TS Champion, and she was the one who came up with the idea to open a support group, so she attends the group with us. There wasn’t a support group in Central London so with the support of our church community we have now got a monthly venue at The Hut , 12 Alpha Mews, Chelsea, SW3.
We are all enjoying the support group and have met some wonderful people since opening the group.
We would love to welcome new people to our lovely group, so please get in touch for more details tourettesactionchelsea@gmail.com.
