Teaching and support staff: Training for those in education provisions

This is a 1 - 1.5 hour training session designed for education professionals and support staff who would like to learn more about supporting students with Tourette syndrome in education. This can be delivered during staff meetings or as part of an INSET training day.

This 1 to 1.5-hour training session is designed for education professionals and support staff interested in learning how to better support students with Tourette syndrome in educational settings. It can be delivered during staff meetings or as part of an INSET training day.

What the Webinar Covers:

  • Gain a good understanding of Tourette syndrome (TS)
  • Learn about the issues that may present in education provisions around tics
  • Learn the co-occurring conditions that can commonly come alongside TS
  • Discuss the difficulties you may face in teaching  
  • Learn what difficulties students may face with learning and accessing the curriculum with tics
  • Learn the differences between tics and other behaviours     
  • Look at how to manage safeguarding around tics
  • Learn what support is available from our charity for both education provisions and parents
  • Gain access to our experienced teaching staff with a chance of a Q&A at the end of the session to answer any immediate questions or concerns you may have with any individual students.
